Burn(ing) to Dance with Brittany and Simon
Dance has been incredibly healing in my life. As Brittany and I entered the single world, after being in long-term relationships, it allowed us to have a connection with others in a space that is creative, intimate and safe. It is heart fulfilling to share this deep connection with someone who you love. Both of us have had a love for dancing and have learned various types of social dancing through our lives. For me, dance is especially magical when I enter into a flow state that is both effortless and spontaneous. Where all the moves go away and it is the magic of my connection to the music, my partner and myself. At the highest level, I experience Unity consciousness. This is our first non-choreographed, "freestyle," dance video that incorporates Zouk and Fusion dancing. After six months of dancing together, Brittany and I wanted to share our passion for dancing with you and show you how much joy, creativity, and childlike freedom it brings to us and hopefully you as well. Special thanks to Satyam Shrestha for his amazing videography. The basic idea is this, record dancing to the song, Burn by Violet Skies (a song we had never danced to before) in different places and on various surfaces. Each place and surface had its own challenge. We don't typically dance on rugs, so the inside studio had a different feel than to wood floors. Second, the wood dock had gaps and had a chilling winter wind. Third, the beach gives the most tactile connection with sand and poses the challenge of dancing on a sloped surface. The interesting thing is to see how differently we danced to the same song. We hope that in watching us dance in various locations in a freestyle form will encourage and inspire all of you to dance. If you love what you see, keep tuned in because we will be posting more! Violet Skieswww.iamvioletskies.comhttp://www.iamvioletskies.com/Simon Fentresswww.simonfentress.comEnjoy
